Today in Class...
Today in Human Geo we did not learn anything new except that there is an easier way to copy and past. We had four new students in class today. We helped them set up their blogs. This took all of the class period becuase setting up your blog can be confusing. I was a little confused when I first read the instructions to set mine up, but eventually I understood. Mr. Schick was also very kind and brough donuts in for us. We had a choice of chocolate and powedered. I choose powdered even though chocolate was my favorite. I like human geo class so far, and I am excited for more classes.

Letter to Garcia
Elbert Hubbard wrote a letter about a man name Rowen. During the Spanish-American War in 1898 America and Spain fought over the control of Cuba. General Garcia lived in Cuba, and President Mckinley wanted to send him a letter, but the problem was that no one knew where in Cuba Generel Garcua lived. President Mckinely asked Rowen to deliver this secret letter to General Garcia. Rowen never asked any questions and did what he was told. He delivered the letter to General Garcia with no problems. This letter showed us how we should act in life. If we have a job we should do it with no questions asked and strive to always do our best. Then we learned about "Culling of the Herd." That is when you can tell who the slower and lazy people are in a group of people. Mr. Schick tuaght us this today becuase it was a very good life leasoin. We should always do our best in everything we do with no questions asked.

Today in Class...
Today in human geography we started class off by getting new seating arrangments. Then we went over the class syllabis. We talked about all the rules. We talked about what to do if you missed a class, were late to class, and the penalties for both of these things. We dicussed the grading system and how we are graded by points. We also talked about the use of technology in this class. This class we will try to use has little paper as possible to be more earth friendly. Then many people in the class had internet problems,so everyone tried to fix it. The people that had the internet played free rice. I love playing free rice becuase you learn and help needy people at the same time. I am excited to learn more in human geography class.

First Day
My first day at John Carroll was exciting and nervous. I am the oldest in my family, so I dont have an older sibling who has showed me around the school like alot of my friends have. When I got to the school most of my friends were already there,so it was good to see familiar faces. Then all the freshman and their parents went to the auditorium and listened to the faculty talk. Then we went to our advisory! I was very excited becuase we spend all four years of highscool with the same advisory. Mrs. Stathes seems like a wonderful advisor, and I am excited to meet the rest of the people in my advisory. Next we had a round robin session where we all go to different people and listen to them give us information. Finally we had a shortened version of our schedule. I was very excited to see who was in my classes and who my teachers were. I meet alot of new people, who all seemed very nice. I can't wait to start highschool on monday!
